What is Urgent Care at Your Door

Our new service in Hertfordshire lets private individuals book a paramedic, nurse or doctor to deliver healthcare at home. This service is available for those aged 2+

So often, you have an issue, and you either can’t get a doctor's appointment or the idea of getting out of bed fills you with dread. A&E is one alternative, but do you want to be sat in the waiting room for a whole day?

Our service bridges the gap by delivering urgent care in the home. By tackling issues early, they can often be prevented from worsening, and sometimes, face-to-face is better than online or telephone appointments.

FAQs

Is this not just a taxi? No, definitely not. During your home appointment, we'll conduct comprehensive health checks, just like you'd receive at a doctor's surgery. In most cases, we can resolve issues without the need for a hospital visit. We refer to this as 'See and treat.' If hospital care is necessary, you're not obligated to travel with us. Ambulance services have evolved significantly, and even during emergency shifts, Paramedics often complete entire shifts without transporting patients to the hospital, as they can arrange further care on-site. Our vehicles are equipped with extensive equipment. Additionally, we provide non-emergency transfers for appointments as part of our pre-booked services. For instance, if someone cannot sit up in a car

It sounds expensive? We have optimised our service to be as cost-effective and accessible as possible, with fees comparable to a weekly grocery bill for a small family. By providing care conveniently at home or in bed, we promote early intervention, which often averts hospital admissions. You can sign up to our monthly subscription to give you protection and spread out costs. Our commitment to delivering exceptional care not only benefits individuals but also alleviates strain on emergency ambulance resources, allowing for swift responses to critical situations such as cardiac arrests, anaphylaxis, strokes, and heart attacks.

What are your opening hours? Our current operating hours are from 10 am to 10 pm, with phone lines closing at 9 pm to facilitate the completion of appointments. To better serve our clients, we will be extending our hours starting May, from 6 am to 2 am, ensuring accessibility during early mornings and late nights. This expansion aims to accommodate diverse schedules and provide comprehensive care to our community around the clock.

Who is this service for? Our service caters for everyone, aged 2 and above, particularly those with limited mobility or who are unwell and prefer not to leave their beds. It also serves patients who seek prompt medical attention without waiting for a doctor's appointment or those unable to wait for the next available slot. Additionally, individuals who have fallen and require assistance getting up can benefit from this service.

Do you need this service? Urgent Care at Your Door stems from the personal experience of our CEO, Dave Hawkins. Last year, when faced with severe pain and unable to secure a GP appointment promptly, he recognised the need for a solution. More recently, when his parents fell ill, the urgency of their situation reinforced the importance of accessible healthcare. While our service may be utilised sporadically for urgent needs, its presence empowers individuals to proactively address common illnesses and injuries. With an expanding network and a team comprising skilled prescribers and clinicians capable of administering sutures and other advanced procedures, our community-driven initiative thrives on subscriber support.
